St. James Town

St. James Town is a densely populated neighbourhood in downtown Toronto. It is one of the most multicultural neighbourhoods in the city, with a mix of low and high-income residents, immigrants, and students. The area is known for its high-rise apartment buildings and its proximity to Ryerson University.

The history of St. James Town dates back to the early 1800s when it was primarily farmland. By the 1850s, the area began to develop into a middle-class residential neighbourhood. In the 1950s, the original housing was demolished to make way for high-rise apartment buildings. Today, St. James Town is home to around 18,000 residents living in over 19 high-rise apartment buildings. St. James Town is a diverse and vibrant neighbourhood, offering a convenient location, a variety of amenities, and a strong sense of community.
